As this class comes to an end, a summary of my findings is the theme of today's post.
Blog
I end up with 8 posts (counting this one) on my blog and a total of 20 comments. When I posted my articles at the end of the week, I had more views and as a consequence, comments. The post with the most views is "What I have learned from the case study". I posted this one on a saturday and I think people just had more time to read it. I had 300 pageviews last month and I have 7 followers.
Concerning my VLOG, I have 21 views, which is very low but I put it in private in such way as only people with the link can access to it. If it was a VLOG with something I really wanted to share like a travel, or something I discovered, I would have put it in public and share it on all my social media to reach a lot of people.
To improve it, I should have add some music on it to catch people attention. Also, cutting the video by parts is a good option, it allows to distinguish each questions instead of listening to all the VLOG without any transitions.
I am not sure if I will keep up a blog after the end of the class. It can be a good way to start a career but first I have to work on what I really want to build to know if a blog is necessary or not. In the future, the blog strategy can be efficient if my target market is susceptible to be interested in a blog.
Facebook
Facebook is a tool that I use since a long time. I have learned all the option available to create an ad, and the wide range of groups that can be find on it. Facebook is not only a social media, is a way to do business with every users.
This tool is very effective because every kind of people use it, from the youngest to the oldest. I have 575 friends on my account and I follow 55 brands/groups.
Twitter
Twitter is a different tool. It is more direct than Facebook to communicate from users to the brand. I used to use it 3 years ago but I stopped because I didn't find it useful to me. I think it is better to use it as a brand to be known with catchy tweets and to help customers in real time. I follow Discover Los Angeles to be aware of the events in the city, then BBC News to have the information in the world and finally Vogue Paris because I like fashion. I will not use it regularly, only weekly to see what's new.
Strengths: depending on which accounts you follow, you can learn a lot of things about your competitors, the news, your own brand.
Weaknesses: There is a limit of letters on twitter, it has rise but still you have to be efficient when posting or commenting. Plus, everybody can read what your are posting so you have to be careful and think about the impact of your audience.
LinkedIn
I was already using LinkedIn before the class, but I didn't know about the groups. It can be great to gather people with the same interest and to share experiences. To build a personal brand with this tool, sharing can be good because this network can reach easily people. Indeed, on your feed you see what people like and share, so a brand can be relay quickly.
I now belong to 2 groups, Smart Textiles and New Luxury Network International. I decided to follow those groups because it can be good to be aware of what is going on with the evolution of textile and the opportunities that can be found for my future job. I will continue to follow them after this class because it can be useful for me.
